The New Brunswick District of the Canadian Bible Society has been a New Brunswick Chartered not-for-profit ministry since 1819. The Canadian Bible Society started in 1804 and we are a member of 15 other districts in the country. The Canadian Bible Society is a member of the larger family of Bible Societies called the United Bible Societies. We all share the same mission and mandate.

Our mission is to publish, translate and distribute the word of God in a language the people of the world can read and understand and at a price they can afford. We have operated out of the District Bookstore and Office at 117 Germain Street, Saint John, New Brunswick, since 1916 and continue to stock the largest selection of Scriptures in Atlantic Canada.

How you can help.

The Canadian Bible Society is always looking for innovative and exciting ways in which to increase our exposure and raise funds for the Bible cause.

We host fundraising events at churches called Festivals of Praise. At these events a number of neighboring churches send choirs to a hosting church in which celebration and singing give light to continuing the bible cause through a free will offering. If you are interested in coordinating a festival of praise in your area contact our district office under "fundraising ideas".

Scripture projects are a way you can do mission work while staying home. Should your church or Sunday school wish to designate an offering, a Sunday service, or a hymn fest we can designate those proceeds to provide scriptures in the country of your choice.

Bible A Month Club is one of the most cost effective and easiest ways you can support the Bible cause. Each five-dollar incremental donation will provide a third world recipient with a hard cover bible or New Testament in their language. Most join by giving a monthly sum however others give by-annually and some annually.

Become a volunteer coordinator in your community or church! We need people to put up posters, help organize fund raising events, help with canvasses and join in walk-a-thons, golf tournaments, bike-a- thons and any other wild and fun idea we can continue with the Bible cause.
